Data controller and contact details

Privacy contact: marco.filocamo@gmail.com.

Personal data collected

Personal data may be supplied voluntarily or collected automatically when the website is used. Technical usage data can include IP addresses and information recorded in system logs. Cookies and similar technologies are addressed below.

Personal data can include email addresses, usage data and, where used, trackers. Details of the data used for each purpose are given in the relevant sections below. If data is identified as optional, you may withhold it without affecting the availability of the service. Contact the controller if you are unsure which information is needed. You are responsible for any third-party personal data you obtain, publish or share through this website.

Email inquiries

The Contact page uses an email link. Clicking it opens your email application; it does not submit a website form. If you send an email, the information received includes your email address and the information you choose to include in the message, such as your name, company and inquiry. You can choose what to share, but sufficient information is needed to respond. Please do not send confidential files or sensitive personal data in an initial inquiry.

There is no contact-form submission database, form validation or contact consent checkbox in this contact flow. Sending an inquiry does not subscribe you to a newsletter.

Purposes and legal bases

Personal data is processed to respond to requests, provide the requested services, meet legal obligations, protect rights and interests, and detect fraudulent or malicious activity. Email inquiry information is used to understand and respond to the request.

Processing may rely on the following legal bases, where applicable:

  • Consent given for one or more specific purposes.
  • Performance of a contract or steps requested before entering into a contract.
  • Compliance with a legal obligation.
  • A task carried out in the public interest or the exercise of official authority, where applicable.
  • The legitimate interests of the controller or a third party.

Where an inquiry concerns a potential engagement, processing necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract falls within the corresponding basis above. The controller can clarify the basis for any particular processing operation. Listing a conditional basis does not mean that every basis is used for every inquiry.

How and where data is processed

Data is processed using computers and communication systems, with organizational arrangements related to the stated purposes. Appropriate security measures are used to help prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.

In addition to the controller, authorized people involved in operating the website or responding to requests may have access to data. External technical, hosting or other service providers may also process data where needed, with processor arrangements where applicable. An up-to-date list can be requested from the controller.

Data is processed at the controller’s operating locations and where the parties involved in processing are located. Processing may involve a country different from the user’s country. Information about transfers and the relevant safeguards can be requested from the controller.

How long data is retained

Data is retained for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected. It may be kept longer where a legal obligation or the user’s consent permits or requires this.

  • Data connected with performing a contract is retained until that performance is complete, subject to any further legal retention obligations.
  • Data processed for legitimate interests is retained until those interests have been fulfilled. More information about the relevant interest can be requested from the controller.
  • Where processing is based on consent, data may be retained until consent is withdrawn, subject to any other applicable legal basis or obligation.
  • Data may need to be kept longer to comply with a legal obligation or an order from an authority.

After the applicable retention period ends, personal data is deleted. Email inquiry information follows these purpose-based retention criteria.

Once personal data has been deleted at the end of its retention period, access, erasure, correction and portability rights cannot be exercised in relation to data that is no longer held.

Cookies, analytics and external services

Cookies and other tracking technologies may be used to provide requested website functionality or for any additional purposes specifically disclosed for the services in use. WordPress uses cookies for administrator authentication; this contact method does not introduce a form cookie, CAPTCHA, newsletter enrollment or a consent checkbox.

The current English core website does not include a newsletter sign-up, Google Analytics tracking, Hotjar heat mapping or session recording, or externally hosted content widgets. These services are not used to process inquiries sent through the email link. If the website’s services change, this notice will be updated to reflect the processing involved.

Your rights

Within the limits of applicable data protection law, including the GDPR where it applies, you may:

  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent.
  • Object to processing based on a legal basis other than consent, in the circumstances provided by law.
  • Ask for access to your personal data and information about its processing.
  • Ask for inaccurate data to be corrected or updated.
  • Ask for processing to be restricted.
  • Ask for personal data to be deleted.
  • Receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and, where technically feasible and legally applicable, have it transferred to another controller.
  • Lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority or seek a judicial remedy.

You may also request information about the legal basis for transfers to another country or international organization and the safeguards used to protect the data.

Objecting to processing

Where processing is based on public interest, official authority or legitimate interests, you may object for reasons connected with your particular situation. If data is processed for direct marketing, you may object at any time, free of charge and without giving a reason. An email inquiry is not a marketing subscription.

Exercising your rights

Send requests to marco.filocamo@gmail.com. Requests are handled free of charge and answered as soon as possible, within one month, subject to the applicable legal provisions. Where required, corrections, deletions or restrictions are communicated to recipients unless this is impossible or involves disproportionate effort; information about those recipients can be requested.

Additional information

Legal claims and requests from authorities

Personal data may be used in legal proceedings or their preparation to protect against misuse of the website or associated services. Disclosure may be required by a public authority under the applicable law.

System logs and maintenance

For operation and maintenance, the website and technical services may collect system logs recording interactions; these can include personal data such as an IP address. Further information about this processing can be requested from the controller.

Further information and changes

Further information about processing or service-specific notices can be requested using the privacy contact above. Changes to this notice will be identified on this page and, where feasible and required, communicated through other available channels. If a change affects processing based on consent, consent will be obtained again where necessary.
