Is this the right course for your team?

Starting level

Participants should already be comfortable with Excel tables, formulas and basic data analysis.

Everyday work

The pathway starts from real work: recurring reports, source data and the questions your team needs to answer.

Course pathway

01

Plan more complex analysis

Review the question, data structure and output before adding complexity to a workbook.

02

Import and transform with Power Query

Import files, append and merge queries, group data, create custom columns and unpivot information.

03

Work with dynamic arrays

Build dynamic results with XLOOKUP, FILTER, UNIQUE, HSTACK and VSTACK where available.

04

Create repeatable reports

Connect source data to filtered summaries and reports; assess GROUPBY and PIVOTBY against the installed build.

05

Make formula logic reusable

Use LET to organize calculations and LAMBDA for reusable functions; choose between queries and formulas deliberately.

06

Evaluate AI support

Assess ChatGPT support for Power Query and Microsoft Copilot where licensing permits; check all proposals against the workbook.

Planning the course

Software and format

The course is designed for live team training using Excel for Microsoft 365 installed on participants’ computers.

Platform

Windows is recommended.

Compatibility and planning

Mac compatibility and feature availability are checked against the selected topics; group size, timing and delivery arrangements are agreed separately.

Questions about the pathway

Can we adjust the content to the team?

The initial discussion covers current skills, everyday tasks and objectives so suitable adaptations can be assessed.

Does every participant need the same features?

The selected topics need a compatible Excel installation. Version, platform and feature availability should be checked before organizing the course.

Which other pathway should we consider?

Foundations consolidates tables, formulas, PivotTables and reports. Advanced builds on those skills with transformations and more complex analysis.
